We have an exciting performance opportunity for our Bollywood/Bhangra and Classical-blend students. The performance is on July 18th with an organization that we work and partner with, Lotus Music & Dance. We are looking for dancers who are interested taking a performance intensive course with Ajna culminating with the performance. The recital will include a host of other wonderful cultural performances including classical Indian dance, Hula, Tahitian, dance from the Philippines and Peru.
We will work with you to teach you a routine building on the choreography each week. We’ll work on dance technique rhythm, grace, expression and performance. It will be a fun and challenging experience and will offer you a platform to perform and showcase your skills.
If you’d like to participate, please complete this application form by Thursday May 7th and we will reply with a response by Friday May 8th as spaces are limited. This is open for dancers who have taken or take any form of dance (any genre of dance/movement, Zumba, cardio dance, etc). You can apply to do one or both performances.
Performance: Saturday July 18th, 2pm
Location to be confirmed
You will be able to invite friends/family to the recital – tickets will be between $10-$20
10 Wednesdays 7-8pm for Classical Blend from May 13th – July 15th*
10 Wednesdays 8-9pm for Bollywood/Bhangra from May 13th – July 15th*

Cost of ‘Performance intensive’: $275 per performance (you can do one or both)
Additional costs to bear in mind:

Additional rehearsals – We might need 1-2 additional rehearsal the week of the show – $20/hour
*We understand that we’re in New York and have crazy schedules and that you may not be able to attend all rehearsals. You will be responsible for catching up on missed choreography through videos and meeting with other dancers. And, to ensure a strong performance and in fairness to your fellow dancers, you are required to be at the last 2 practices with full knowledge of the steps and choreography. If you miss multiple classes and have not caught up and are holding the group back, you may be asked not to participate.
